John Kiernan is a New Jersey based film, video game and commercial composer and guitarist.

John Kiernan's compositions have won multiple national awards at ZedFest 2014 and ShriekFest 2013 & 2014's "Best Original Score" categories with award winning director Anthony Mezza's "One Last Kiss" and "Cut To Pieces". John's music has also been featured in national commercials, such as Pennsylvania's FOX News' Mothers Day 2014 announcement.

John Kiernan's guitar virtuosity has brought him to attention of performing nationally with acts such as Slash, Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators, Foxy Shazzam!, Alexisonfire and Less Than Jake. John has internationally released many acclaimed albums in a multitude of genres under his name, R.V.U., and has collaborated with many artists for their releases.

John Kiernan's film and guitar work draws influence from virtuosic guitarists such as Steve Vai, Andy James and Daniele Gottardo & composers such as Maurice Ravel, Danny Elfman and Akira Yamoka.

John Kiernan is also the Co-founder and guitar/music technology instructor of the Academy of Musical Proficiency in New Jersey, teaching children and adults the enjoyment of music theory, guitar technique and music technology with co-owner and piano instructor & Opera accompanist Sonia Kiernan.
