Biography

Julienne Davis is an international fashion model who has worked in New York, Milan, Paris and Barcelona. Julienne was living in London in 1992 when she was asked to sing with world renowned DJ Jay Strongman, Guitarist Boz Boorer (Morrissey, Polecats), Woodie Taylor (the Meteors/Morrissey), and Mel Blatt (pre All Saints) in the country-funk band DRIVE - their first single "Curfew" was critically acclaimed by the British music press and became Record Of The Week on several Radio One shows. But when the lounge scene started to emerge in the mid 90's, Julienne tastes morphed into blues, electronica, lounge and exotica and she decided to front her own project combining all those genres and SOPHISTICATED SAVAGE born. As singer, writer and co-producer of Sophisticated Savage, Julienne sang live with the band on a series of successful gigs across the UK and Spain and oversaw the release of their debut album - "Strange Paradise" (available on i-tunes).

At the same time Julienne was working on "Strange Paradise" she landed the pivotal role in Stanley Kubrick's legendary final film "Eyes Wide Shut" and her experience in the film was reflected in several of the album's songs including "Taboo" (released as a single on Kon-Tiki Records) and "Six Numbers" (voted one of the top three chill out songs of all time on Garage Band.com). Another track from the album "Cosmonaut" was licensed to the feature film "8 Dates With Paul".

Moving to Los Angeles in 2006, Julienne formed FORMOSA GIRL with producer Steven Heinstein and their first creation, the disco-pop inspired "You're So Sleazy" was featured in the Hollywood movie "Mr. Fix It". Always seeking to expand her musical horizons, Julienne teamed up in 2013 with The Martini Kings to record her own unique version of the Bossa Nova classic "Agua De Berber" and then formed THE MIDNIGHT CANDY with her new musical partner Greg Offers. So far the duo have produced two singles for which they have also filmed and produced their own videos.
